La Navidad!

Feliz Navidad y Feliz Año a todos!!

I apologize for the weeks without updates...the holiday season here is very exciting and it was fun to get involved in all the Spanish traditions. I had my last week of classes at Don Quijote the week of Christmas. It was awesome to have four weeks of Spanish classes to get me back into the speaking routine, but I decided I needed to take my job hunt more seriously :). For Christmas Eve, La Noche Buena, my roommates and I all cooked a lot of delicious food and had a wonderful feast at our apartment! My roommate Kristen's whole family joined in the celebration which was so fun especially because we felt like we were really hosting a holiday party :). After dinner we went to midnight mass at La Catedral de La Almudena directly behind the El Palacio Real near our house. It was an incredible experience to be at mass in such a wonderful place with so much tradition! Christmas Day we all relaxed and a couple of my roommates got everyone little gifts...it was such a relaxing, happy day!
