Otra Vez En Madrid! OLE!

No words can really capture the excitement I felt arriving back in Madrid to spend another 9 months here with my friends and in the city of my dreams! It was like coming home, even though we didn't technically have a home yet. Niko, our roommate from last year was settled in his new apartment and since his roommates hadn't arrived yet, graciously let us stay at his place!---He gave up his bed and everything to let us stay the two or 3 weeks it took us to secure an apartment. Niko didnt have internet access :( so every day we would wake up, take the metro to a cafe in the center of the city and search for apartments, email potential roommates, and search the streets for rental signs in areas that we wanted to live!! We looked at a bunch of places, and finally got contacted by a 28 year old Spanish chico living in the area of Moncloa. This is a fantastic area, but we were a little skeptical at first because it wasn't the exact area we originally wanted to live in. We came to look at the place, and just loved it right away. It's a very spacious apartment in general and we have a really big room and our own bathroom! Make sure you look at my pictures from before and after!!! We really fixed up the place, and it feels like home for sure. Not to mention our roommate Raul is such an incredible guy! He is from Madrid, and not only obviously does he speak spanish, but he speaks german, english, and french, and he is currently learning portugeuse!!! He has been so kind to us, and he really could become a great friend of ours! Carly joined the teaching program that I was doing last year, so now we are both settled into our routine of teaching in the mornings and babysitting at night! It's been a great first couple months, we celebrated Halloween and we are going to prepare all the fixings for a Thanksgiving FEAST for all of our Spanish friends so they can see how we Americans celebrate the wonderful holiday! I have a lot of exciting plans coming up for the following months. A great friend Josephine is coming the week after Thanksgiving, the day after Christmas we head to Paris to see where Niko grew up, and John will be visiting me for NEW YEARS!!!! I'm extremely excited for all of this and more, right now I'm just trying to enjoy each day, and live up all the time I've got here in this wonderful city! I hope you enjoy the last posts, and look forward to more, because there will be more to come of my adventures!

Hasta Luego,
T
